On Tuesday, April 25, the kick-off of the new Reference Network in Additive Manufacturing of Catalonia (XaRFA) was held at the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics of UPC with more than fifty participants.
The objective of the event was to welcome and outline the lines of work. The welcome was led by Dr. José María Cabrera, General Director of CIM UPC, the leading entity of XaRFA, the Vice-Rector of Research of UPC, Professor Jordi Llorca, and Roger Uceda, Director of Transfer of CIM UPC and Coordinator of XaRFA.
The central part of the event was a workshop for all attendees, which helped to identify the various problems and needs of the research groups and to find possible solutions to start moving the project forward.
The event ended with a visit to the facilities of CIM UPC, where the various Principal Investigators of the center showed and answered the concerns of the attendees about their research projects.
The participants showed their enthusiasm for the project. During the event, they had the opportunity to meet and generate synergies.
