The 2nd Annual XaRFA Conference Reaffirms the Potential of Additive Manufacturing
On December 3rd, 2024, TecnoCampus hosted the 2nd Annual XaRFA Conference as part of the International 3D Printing Day, bringing together experts, students, institutions, and companies to share knowledge and explore the future of additive manufacturing. The event transformed the TecnoCampus Foyer into a strategic meeting point for the sector, consolidating it as a key hub for research and innovation in advanced manufacturing technologies.
A Platform for 3D Printing Technology Transfer
Throughout the event, critical aspects of additive manufacturing were discussed, ranging from its industrial applications to its sustainability and societal impact. The various keynote speeches and panel discussions fostered in-depth analysis on the integration of emerging technologies, overcoming technical challenges, and unlocking collaboration opportunities within the R&D&I ecosystem.
This second edition was not only a platform for debate but also a demonstration of the power of collaborative work and the importance of building synergies between academia, industry, and institutional stakeholders. Participating organizations emphasized the need to strengthen knowledge transfer and internationalization as key drivers for a more innovative and competitive future.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the commitment and active participation of speakers, collaborators, and entities that supported this initiative as a platform to drive additive manufacturing forward.
We extend our special thanks to the XaRFA and CIM UPC teams, the speakers and contributors who shared their expertise, and the institutions and companies that endorsed the event: AGAUR, Generalitat de Catalunya, TecnoCampus, ThinkIn 3D Mataró, Diputació de Barcelona, CIM UPC, HP, Godiz S.L , UPC, AMPOWER, SEAT S.A., IOSFIX, IAM 3D HUB, Leitat Technological Center, SJD, among others.
Looking Ahead
This conference reaffirmed XaRFA and CIM UPC’s commitment to enhancing research valorization, knowledge transfer, and the creation of new opportunities within the sector. Additive manufacturing continues to evolve at a rapid pace, and events like this provide a foundation for shaping a future where technology, sustainability, and collaboration are fundamental pillars.
In 2025, XaRFA will continue expanding its initiatives, tackling new challenges that will bring us even closer to the future of advanced manufacturing. The upcoming year promises new opportunities to push boundaries, foster innovation, and reinforce a long-term vision of internationalization and self-sustainability.
As we always say: “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” See you at the next edition!
