Last Monday, September 22, XaRFA, the Reference Network in Additive Manufacturing of Catalonia led by CIM UPC, brought together researchers, companies, institutions, and professionals to share projects, experiences, and visions about the future of knowledge transfer in the field of additive manufacturing in Catalonia.
The opening session featured the participation of Mr. José María Cabrera (General Director of CIM UPC and of the network), Mr. Jordi Berenguer i Sau (Vice-Rector for Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UPC), and Ms. Lourdes Puigbarraca (Deputy Director General of the DGTSC).
The day continued with a roundtable on success stories in knowledge transfer, moderated by Ms. Cristina Aresté (Head of the Innovation Management Service at UPC), with the participation of:
- Ms. Begoña Ferrari (Researcher at CSIC and COO at COLFEED4Print)
- Mr. Jaume Castellà (Manager of the CD6 group at UPC)
- Mr. Javier Marcipar (Managing Director at CIMNE Tecnología)
During the Demoday, several projects in additive manufacturing were presented, highlighting the diversity of applications and solutions being developed within the network.

The day concluded with networking to establish new collaborations and share ideas, followed by a visit to the CIM UPC pilot plant, a space where ideas take shape.
XaRFA expresses its gratitude to the DGTSC and the AGAUR team for their institutional support, as well as to all the attendees, speakers, and collaborators who made the event possible. Special recognition was given to the work of the network’s management team, with a mention of promoter Lua Po Vicente, and the support of director José María Cabrera and the entire CIM UPC team.
