XaRFA will be at Advanced Factories 2024 presenting the unique technologies of its member groups

The XaRFA, led by CIM UPC, announces its participation in the Advanced Factories 2024 fair, the most important Industry 4.0 congress in Europe.

March 14, 2024 – The Additive Manufacturing Reference Network (XaRFA) highlights its presence at Advanced Factories 2024, the largest Industry 4.0 congress in Europe, held at Fira Barcelona – Gran Via from the 9th to the April 11.

The technologies exhibited at the XaRFA stand come from the beneficiary groups of the XaRFA 2 MaRKET Call, published from February 8 to 22, 2024. This initiative, coordinated by the Transfer and Valorization area of CIM UPC, has given the participants an exclusive opportunity to show their innovative solutions with transfer potential to the market in the industry and to important agents from sectors with similar interests.

During Advanced Factories 2024, four research groups representative of the network will present their emerging technologies with transfer potential:

CIM UPC

Leading technological center in advanced manufacturing of the UPC. The R+D+I project team of CIM UPC works, on a national and international scale, in several lines, among which is 3D printing: manufacture of pre-surgical models and printing of prostheses, 3D bioprinting of tissues, design and development of personalized 3D printing machinery and hybrid printing; concrete 3D printing, metal printing technology WAAM, SLM; new component characterization and validation procedures, etc.

Aridditive SL

The UPC and CIM UPC spin-off that leads the way in advanced concrete 3D printing solutions. Its innovative technology offers sustainable and efficient construction options for various applications in street furniture and prefabs, contributing to a greener and more adaptable environment.

PowerDIW

This future CIM UPC spin-off will present its pioneering high-power Direct Ink Writing (DIW) technology for transformative manufacturing. This solution allows the optimized and customized manufacture of complex parts in areas such as aerospace, automotive, medical and renewable energies.

DIOPMA

The Center for Design and Optimization of Processes and Materials will exhibit its latest innovations in the field of materials science. This research group from the University of Barcelona, a member of the network, stands out in the activity of supporting companies to overcome challenges presented in emerging technologies and will have an exhibitor with some samples.

CIEFMA

The Center for Structural Integrity, Reliability and Micromechanics of Materials stands out for its experience in the characterization of engineering materials, including ceramics, metals and inorganic compounds. Specializing in advanced optimization processes, we will present additively manufactured parts, with an emphasis on the research line of designing and manufacturing catalysts using Direct Ink Writing technology for hydrogen production and CO2 methanation.

XaRFA invites visitors to explore Stand B309 at Advanced Factories.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of this prestigious Industry 4.0 congress and learn about the latest solutions in automation, robotics, integrated production systems, artificial intelligence, etc. It is also the perfect opportunity to establish collaborations with participating research groups and explore the future of additive manufacturing.
